| 60 issues from No. 1 to No. 61 (lacking No. 59). It was probably the first woodblock illustration magazine in Kyoto, along with "Shin Zuan". It is unclear how much involvement Kamisaka Sekka, who was involved in the editing of the Kyoto Art Association's miscellaneous magazines and Kyoto Bijutsu, had, but the method of collecting and editing the monthly prizes was very original and a unique idea for a city of arts and crafts. This monthly publication, "Bijutsukai," seems to be the source of the Meiji era's arts and crafts design ocean (kai). First published in March 1896 | |
